Lead Technician
Job Summary
I am looking for a lead service technician who is experienced and dedicated to performing complex repairs and maintenance on today’s vehicles, while leading a team of technicians. This role requires advanced diagnostic skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for the automotive industry, along with the appropriate tools and equipment. Your daily contributions are an integral part of our success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of automotive technicians, ensuring high-quality repairs and services.
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Oversee the completion of vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a timely manner.
- Ensure the team follows proper procedures for safety, cleanliness, and vehicle handling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise in the service department.
- Providing training and technical guidance to junior technicians.
- Manage repair orders, ensuring they are completed with accuracy and within budget.
- Communicate with service advisor and customers when necessary regarding vehicle issues and needed repairs and maintenance services.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary parts.
- Maintaining a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, ASE Master Certification preffered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician with minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, repair procedures and vehicle maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of automotive sysems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at a time.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor type tasks.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor.
- Ability to adapt to working in less than optimal conditions and positions at times.
